This is one very well written quick read! I read this book thinking I had nothing to lose since it's a small and cheap one! I can now assure you I will read more of this author's work! It is has just the right amount of twists and turns and it makes you ask for more, but in a good way (no major cliffhanger here) !!!! Even if it's not my usual cup of tea, it took me in and did not let me go, until the very end! And it does work as a very good prologue for the author and the rest of her books. It shows exactly her writing style, in few pages, so even if you do not like it (which I highly doubt) you do not feel cheated. Honestly??? If you like adventures, go for it!I only have one question... will we read the rest of the story, some day????

Absolutely, positively NOT a thriller. The only thing missing was a Fabio look alike on the cover with his face buried in an ample bosom. . This is a silly romance novel disguised as action - adventure. It is trite , gushy and mushy. Unless you are my single sister, a crazy cat lady ( who I love ) who reads 5 of these a week Save your money.
An excellent introduction to the characters you will learn more about in the full length novel Finding Sheba. If you enjoy the works of Dan Brown and Preston Child, you'll want to discover H.B. Moore. Chalice's story will intrigue you; Omar's story will introduce you to a likeable character, yet one you know will take you into a world filled with danger and the question of history.
Great story that had my attention. I feel cheated for it just to end like it did. Very disappointed that the author wouldn't make this into a complete book. Four stars for an awesome story however I can't give more than two stars for leaving the reader hanging at a critical point of a potentially great novel.
Packed with action and intrigue, Moore's short story will leave you wanting more. The ending will satisfy those who wish to find out more by reading the novel, and frustrate those who want it all tied up neatly within the short story. There is a somewhat satisfying ending--not a total cliff-hanger. The point of the story is a to attract readers to her Zagouri books and she totally succeeds. Well-written, clean, and recommendable.
I absolutely love H.B. Moore's Omar stories. I wish she would write more of these great action adventures. The personalities seem so real that as I read they take on faces in my imagination. Forget James Bond, Dirk Pitt, and various other hero's. Omar seems to keep his humanity while walking on the shaded side of right. The woman in this story has believability both in her description and how she interacts with Omar. I found myself feeling her anxiety and understood why she trusted this man. Please give me more!
This was a disappointment. I thought I bought a book.
Instead it turned out to be a ten minute long short story.
It might have been a good book. I really could not tell because it was really only an introduction.
I feel as if I was cheated. It wasn't even free.
Short story featuring one of the series leading characters,Omar Zaguri. I've also read the other book in this series, Finding Sheba, which is an excellent story and I highly recommend. Beneath is just an "ok" story, by comparison.
My problem with this author, and many like her, is the "RE-Release" and "RE-RE-Release " of th same ebook. For the past several years, I have read approximately 10 e-books per week and have began noticing several authors advertising a previously released book as a NEW release with NO reference to previous publications. Apparently, this is easy to do in the ebook world and allows this type of deceptive marketing. So,...as the old adage goes, Buyer beware.
